FULLY FUNDED SCHOLARSHIP AT ARIZONA STATE UNIVERSITY

In partnership with the Mastercard Foundation Scholarship, Arizona State University is offering fully funded master's scholarships in select graduate programs. It is part of Phase III of the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program at ASU, named Innovation and Technology.
Through this partnership, Arizona State University will offer 30 fully-funded graduate scholarships for the 2026/2027 academic year, which commences in August 2026.
WHAT DOES THE SCHOLARSHIP COVER?
This scholarship will cover the following fees for the entire duration of the study program:
- Full tuition and fees
- On-campus housing & books
- Visa, airfare, and medical expenses
- Leadership development and mentorship opportunities
- 2-month internship between Year 1&2
- Costs incurred for the English language tests
- Costs incurred for program application
WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO APPLY FOR THIS SCHOLARSHIP?
- You should be a citizen of an African country committed to ethical leadership and demonstrated engagement in your community
- You must be between 18 and 33 years old before the application deadline.
- Have a bachelor's degree or be in the process of earning one by August 2026
- You should not have earned a graduate degree before.
WHAT STUDY PROGRAMS ARE AVAILABLE WITH THE INNOVATION AND TECHNOLOGY SCHOLARSHIP AT ASU?
Through this scholarship, you have up to 10 graduate programs to choose from. They include:
- MS Computer Science
- MS Information Technology
- MS Data Analytics & Engineering
- MS Robotics and Autonomous Systems
- MS Civil, Environmental & Sustainable Engineering
- MS Human Systems Engineering - Intelligent Systems
- MS Modern Energy Production and Sustainable Use
- MS Clean Energy Systems
- MS Global Technology and Development
- MS User Experience
WHAT'S THE APPLICATION PROCESS AND DEADLINE?
All interested candidates should first apply for the Mastercard Foundation Innovation and Technology scholarship. The deadline to submit an application is Sunday, September 14, at 23:59 GMT. Application link attached at the end.
If you are selected to advance after the initial review, you will then proceed with applying for admission to Arizona State University.
Again, if you are shortlisted, you will be contacted via email to schedule an interview via video or phone call, and you will receive your scholarship decision by late February 2026.
DOCUMENTS YOU NEED TO APPLY FOR THIS SCHOLARSHIP
You essentially need to submit two typed and original essays, both with a length between 450 and 500 words.
These are prompts for these two essays:
"Resilience, Leadership & Impact: Describe a specific experience where you demonstrated resilience, leadership, and/or adaptability. Explain how this experience contributed to your personal or professional growth and prepared you for success in graduate studies. Additionally, discuss the positive impact you had on your community and the key lessons you gained from this experience."
In addition to these two essays, you need to prepare or seek and submit the following documents:
- Your well-written resume
- A PDF recommendation letter signed by your recommender
- Your transcript. Include translation if it is not in English
- Optional Proof of English Proficiency (not required for the scholarship, but it will be required for the admission application)
- Lastly, a filled scholarship application form.
